University of Calgary and NASA waste their time and our money

Oh boy, it's good to know differential tuition is working the way it should be at the University of Calgary as they have made a ground-breaking discovery.
A Canadian space scientist has calculated how Santa Claus manages to deliver presents to almost a billion children around the world during Christmas Eve -- at least the ones who haven't been naughty.

All it takes is precise orbital mechanics, fast-working elves, multiple time zones and a helping hand from NASA's shuttle, says Andrew Yau at the U of C.

Uh, I don't know how to break it to little Andrew... but, Santa Claus isn't real. I'm not so sure what is more outraging, that Christmas is being blatently defamed by a university or that the Canadian Government is endorsing this bull.

The National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada has posted the Santa Claus hypothesis, and I cannot help but wonder how much of tax-payers money went into Yau's research.

The NSERC's mission statement is as follows,

The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) will help make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians.

This benefits Canadians how? Perhaps I'll figure it out in another post.

Over the last ten years, NSERC has invested more than $6 billion in basic research, university-industry projects, and the training of Canada’s next generation of scientists and engineers.

Merry Christmas from the NSERC and the Canadian Government. The hard working men and women who have finally figured out how the fictional Santa Claus would deliver presents to every child in the world if he were an actual person and should he have unlimited funds and a NASA sponsored rocket ship.
