Meltdown in Saskatchewan

There is no other way to describe the way the Saskatchewan Roughriders have been playing these last three weeks other than to say that it has been absolutely embarrassing in every area of the game. Offensively we've been terrible. Special teams we've had turnovers and missed tackles. Defensively we're a laughingstock in the league. What's to fear about the once-unstoppable Saskatchewan Roughriders?

If KJ couldn't move the ball, at least our D would crack down and put some pressure on the opposing QB. If Cates couldn't run, that's okay, cause we have two or three receivers open in the flats to make up that ground and if no one was open, Kerry would run it himself with ease for 6 or 7 yards.

Last week we lost the Banjo Bowl to the second best team in the league who leads the Eastern division. That's a respectable loss seeing as how we were going into the game with 5 straight wins under our belt.

Today's game was by far the worse of the two. We allowed Reynolds to run all over us. We couldn't sack Burris, and what pressure we did put on him by our D-line, our defensive backs got lazy and allowed Copeland grab a precarious pass and turn it into a touchdown - effectively liquidating any momentum generated by our previous major.

44-22. FORTY-FOUR! In the Labour Day Classic, Kerry was overthrowing our receivers. This week he was under-throwing them! Brian Clark is 6'2", 224lb and dressed entirely in red! How the hell do you not see that man standing in the way of your passing route? He didn't sneakily slide into the lane - no, he was STANDING THERE!

Speaking of blind members of the Saskatchewan Roughrider organization - whoever is up in the booth telling Austin not to challenge obvious fumbles should be fired. I mean, the Cates 3 and 7 scramble in the fourth that was reviewed and given to the Riders should be an example to our staff upstairs that we should challenge ANY call if it is REMOTELY questionable. Remember: the first challenge is free Asshat.

I couldn't be more bewildered and frustrated right now. Next week we'll be hosting the BC Lions, who hopefully lose tonight to the Argos. The Lions, win or lose, will want to beat Saskatchewan at home to put themselves ahead in the standings. We need a home-win to bring up some morale before we host Montreal and then return to a hostile McMahon Stadium.

C'mon Riders. Pick it up!
